13D
The GT13D gas turbine, introduced in the 1970s, featured a 5-stage expansion turbine with a cooled first stage. The following version GT13D2, launched in the early 1980s, offered higher efficiency and power output. These improvements were primarily driven by a higher firing temperature and increased mass flow, which was achieved through a modified compressor. To support the higher temperatures, the GT13D2 featured an upgraded expansion turbine with two cooled front stages.
