Developed by Mashproekt in Ukraine, the newer UGT-25,000 gas turbines deliver a power output of 26,700 MW and has an efficiency of 36,5%. It features three independently rotating shafts assemblies: a pressure compressor, a high-pressure (HP) turbine and a free power turbine. The low-pressure (LP) compressor is driven by a one-stage LP turbine with internal air cooling for both vanes and blades. The first three stages of the LP compressor are equipped with variable inlet guide vanes to control surge marging at a higher air flow and pressure condition.
