Laser cladding

Laser cladding, or laser metal deposition, is an advanced technique that enhances surfaces by adding a new layer of material. Using a high-precision laser beam and metallic powder or wire, a strong metallurgical bond with the base material is formed. Laser cladding is mostly used for repairing gas turbine components, especially those made from directionally solidified (DS) or single crystal (SX) materials.
